From the days of Antonj van Leeuwenhoek and his brilliant observations of microbes under his microscopes, throughout the history of microbiology, various tools have helped us advance our understanding of microorganisms that live among us.

Our lab uses all the modern scientific tools at our disposal to understand the fundamental aspects of how bacteria grow on surfaces in a highly organized mode of growth called the biofilms.
